ERGO™ secateurs

A secateur is a tool that has to be extremely ergonomic. We developed the handle’s shape based on interviews and observations with users who use secateurs for extreme work. Work on the secateur’s handles started with 3D printed prototypes, which subsequently served as a base for manual changes. Once an appropriate level of ergonomics had been achieved, the models were scanned with a 3D scanner and the results were used to prepare the final 3D files.

We paid particular attention to the following:

– proper positioning of the secateur in the hand

– optimal angle of the handles for increased grip

– optimal angle of the handle opening

– avoiding pressure on what’s referred to as the palm triangle

– wrist strain

– ambidextrous construction
